La capacità descrittiva dell’autrice s’imprime nel lettore i paesaggi, la casa dei protagonisti, le feste ma anche i viaggi introspettivi del servo di casa Pintor.

Per quelli che hanno scritto che questo libro sia facile a leggere (italiano come seconda linqua) voglio dire che avete sbagliato. Non e' facile a leggere questo libro, ma il processo e' bellissimo. La lingua e' scritto quasi come poesia ed a ricco delle parole che ci aiutano a descrivere l'ambiente del tempo e paese. Se avete studiato l'italiano da anni e vi piace leggere i libri in italiano, vi incorragio almeno a provare questo libro. Non sarete delusi!Product details

Deledda's descriptions of rural Sardegna culture are rich and unique. Great expose' of social hierarchy and class in an agrarian setting.
The font is too small!
Great for easy reading for practicing Italian I do recommend it to anyone who is trying not to forget Italian
A wonderful book written in simple but beautifully descriptive Italian. Might be a bit challenging for newcomers to the Italian language but should be suitable for improvers or more advanced. Reading it on Touch makes it much easier to check an unknown word - simply touching the word highlights it and brings up an English translation. Possibly one of the best books I've read in any language.
Descrizione molto dettagliata della vita di stenti di questa famiglia caduta in rovina, a mio parere tema purtroppo ancora attuale, togliendo la malaria, per alcune famiglie del sud Italia.
This book is a little on the advanced side for most 2nd year students, but well worth the effort. The edition comes with an embedded dictionary and links to translation engines for helping with vocabulary questions, which helps the reader feel more immersed in the reading experience.
Grazia Deledda is incredibly poetic and writes with vivid imagery about her native Sardinia. Her books are popular in Sardinia and sold commonly there. The italian is difficult for a beginner.
